Heartland Film Festival is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to recognize and honor filmmakers whose work explores the human journey by artistically expressing hope and respect for the positive values of life. Heartland encourages filmmakers of Truly Moving Pictures by:

• Holding an annual film festival in Indianapolis, Indiana, celebrating winners of Crystal Heart Awards and Jimmy Stewart Memorial Crystal Heart Awards
• Promoting Truly Moving Pictures through the Heartland Film Festival® Truly Moving PicturesSM Award of Excellence and grassroots partnerships
• Distributing worthy films that otherwise would not have gained distribution into the video/DVD market
• Providing educational opportunities on filmmaking and related topics.
