PRESS RELEASE

HEARTLAND FILM FESTIVAL PARTNERS WITH LOCAL WEB DEVELOPEMENT FIRM TO EXPAND WEB CAPABILITIES

Heartland Film Festival® has partnered with BitWise Solutions for hosting and Web development for the www.HeartlandFilmFestival.org and www.TrulyMovingPictures.org Web sites. The two Web sites combined have more than 235,528 movie-loving visitors a year, generating more than 506,483 page views.

The primary goal of the new partnership is to create an expanded database on the Truly Moving Pictures Web site, allowing visitors to search by genre, actor, director, decade, rating and title. The site is targeted toward film enthusiasts around the world and promotes past and present films, providing detailed information, discussion points and interviews with stars and filmmakers. Visitors can nominate a Truly Moving Picture for consideration and view Heartland’s list of Truly Moving Pictures with new titles being added weekly. Truly Moving Pictures are films that enrich and inspire lives, taking entertainment to a higher level. Heartland expects to launch the enhanced site in Spring 2006.

The Heartland Film Festival Web site is used to promote the nine-day event, October 19-27, 2006, to all constituents including film attendees, filmmakers and corporate sponsors. The site will also feature information on the year-long celebration of Heartland’s 15th anniversary.

Future Heartland Web projects may include online video trailer viewing, a public comment-sharing feature, an Internet DVD retailer and an online ticket purchase capability.

About Heartland Film Festival
Heartland Film Festival, a non-profit organization, was established in 1991 to recognize and honor filmmakers whose work explores the human journey by artistically expressing hope and respect for the positive values of life. Each October, Heartland screens Truly Moving Pictures from around the world and awards more than $100,000 in cash prizes and Crystal Heart Awards to the Festival's top entries, including a $50,000 grand prize for best dramatic feature. The Jimmy Stewart Memorial Crystal Heart Award winners for the best student films and the Crystal Heart Award winners share the remaining money. The Crystal Heart Award cash prizes are given in honor of Max Simon by his parents, Melvin and Bren Simon, through the Max Simon Charitable Foundation. In 14 years, Heartland has awarded more than $1.4 million to support filmmakers in their quest to create Truly Moving Pictures.
