Heartland Film Festival and Riley Hospital for Children Partner for the Kids A first-time partnership between Heartland Film Festival® and Riley Hospital for Children will bring entertainment and hope to hospitalized Hoosier children. In cooperation with film distributors from across the nation, Heartland is presenting Riley Hospital for Children with dozens of feature-length and short films for Riley patients and their families. These Truly Moving Pictures will be formally presented during a celebration in the hospital atrium on Monday, May 16 at 10:30 a.m. Indy Racing League driver Ed Carpenter, a long-time supporter of Riley Hospital and Heartland Film Festival, will join the festivities with his race car, visiting patients and their families. An afternoon movie premiere party will feature four short Heartland films, "John Henry," "Little Red Plane," "Puppies for Sale" and "Monty." Other Heartland films will be viewed by patients and families throughout the year. The collection will include the award-winning films, "When Zachary Beaver Came to Town," "Let Go" and "ChestNut." The films will be shown in patients' rooms via the closed-circuit television program, funded by the Riley Children's Foundation. Riley Hospital President and CEO, Dr. Ora Pescovitz knows the value of entertainment and distraction for children facing injuries or illnesses. "Kids love movies and this gift from Heartland will be enjoyed by Riley patients and their families throughout the year. We are very grateful to Heartland for their generosity and continued commitment to Indiana's children and families." "We are thrilled to begin this new partnership with Riley Hospital for Children. It is rewarding to know that these films, which are full of hope and the positive values of life, can offer joy to Riley kids and their families," said Jeffrey L. Sparks, president of Heartland Film Festival.
