Heartland Film Festival Unveils 2006 Commemorative Media Campaign

August 28, 2006
Festival Celebrates "Fifteen Years of Passion. Fifteen Years of Popcorn."

Indianapolis, IN Fifteen years ago, a group of visionaries united to create a unique film festival to honor beautifully made films that celebrate the positive aspects of life. That film festival has enjoyed extraordinary growth, becoming a platform for Truly Moving PicturesSM and one of the premiere cultural events in Indianapolis.

This year, the Heartland Film Festival® will celebrate 15 years of honoring moving films that inspire and enrich lives, October 19-27 in Indianapolis. The Festival is inviting consumers to join in the celebration with its new media campaign – “Fifteen years of Passion. Fifteen years of Popcorn.”

Concepted and developed by Indianapolis-based three-sixty group, the media campaign captures people’s excitement and passion for the movies and the movie-going experience. It uses a classic movie look with a modern twist, replacing everyday items like a necklace, hat brim, headband and cuff links with the quintessential movie refreshment: popcorn.

“This campaign celebrates the passion for movies and the fun of popcorn,” said Jeffrey L. Sparks, president of Heartland Film Festival. “Today’s moviegoers want to see films that move them, whether to laughter, to tears or to just make a difference. We encourage film enthusiasts of all ages to join us in celebrating the most truly moving films in America.”

The “Fifteen years of Passion. Fifteen years of Popcorn.” campaign will begin airing in late August to promote the 15th annual Festival and will reach moviegoers with broadcast and print ads as well as on the internet. Heartland will also incorporate the new campaign into Festival marketing materials including point-of-sale displays and the 2006 Festival Preview Guide, which will be available at select Indianapolis area Marsh Supermarkets starting September 8.

The 15th anniversary Festival film and event lineup will be announced on September 7 and tickets go on sale September 8. Visit www.HeartlandFilmFestival.org to learn more about Heartland and this year’s anniversary celebration.
