Disney's "Meet The Robinsons" Receives Heartland's Truly Moving Picture Award

Indianapolis, IN – President and CEO of Heartland Film Festival® Jeffrey L. Sparks announced today that the Indianapolis-based film organization has bestowed Walt Disney Pictures’ “Meet The Robinsons” its prestigious Truly Moving Picture Award. "Once again, Heartland is proud to give its Truly Moving Picture Award to another fantastic animated film from Walt Disney Pictures," said Sparks. “‘Meet The Robinsons’ is an adventure for the whole family and will inspire young people to dream big dreams and make the right choices." |

“Meet The Robinsons” is not just being given the Truly Moving Picture Award for its spectacular animation, but for its storyline and message, which follows one boy’s incredible journey from the present to the future. His enduring hope that his travels will end for the best, leads him to “Meet The Robinsons.” As his voyage gets bumpy he only looks ahead—to tomorrow and to a home he knows he will find.
The Truly Moving Picture Award has most recently been awarded to the feature films “The Ultimate Gift,” based on the best-selling book by Jim Stovall, “Amazing Grace,” directed by Michael Apted, “Beyond The Gates,” starring Academy Award® nominee John Hurt, Walt Disney Pictures’ “Bridge to Terabithia,” and “Miss Potter,” starring Academy Award® winner Renee Zellweger.
The Truly Moving Picture Award was created as a way to honor theatrically-released films that align with Heartland's mission and to provide an incentive for studios to make more movies that focus on the positive. The Heartland Film Festival is dedicated to recognizing and honoring filmmakers whose work explores the human journey by artistically expressing hope and respect for the positive values of life.
Walt Disney Pictures’ “Meet The Robinsons” tells the story of Lewis, an orphan who dreams of finding a family. His journey takes an unexpected turn when a mysterious stranger named Wilbur Robinson whisks him away to a world where anything is possible…THE FUTURE. There, he meets an incredible assortment of characters and a family beyond his wildest imagination, The Robinsons, who help lead him on an amazing and hilarious adventure with heartfelt results. “Meet The Robinsons” will be released nationwide on March 30 and will also be released in select theaters in Disney Digital 3D™
